2014 Tournament Results
The 6th Annual Eagles 7v7 Soccer Tournament was held Saturday 28-Jun-2014 at the Line Mountain Jr./Sr. High School sports fields in Herndon, PA. More than 1,000 players, parents and fans turned out for the event which included 46 soccer teams from across the Susquehanna Valley. The days highlights included 90-20 minute games, booster fundraising and sports vendors
and a juggling contest. The tournament was hosted by the Line Mountain High School Soccer Boosters and was sponsored by over 30 local businesses and organizations.
Teams were comprised of high school and middle school student athletes from across the central Pennsylvania as well as AYSO youth teams from as far away as Spring Cove, PA. “We try to give the local athletes an opportunity to play soccer and to have a great time,” stated tournament director Shawn Walshaw-Wertz. “We were so happy to have such a great turnout again this year and the local community once again surpassed our expectations by supporting our event and our student athletes.” The tournament was also able to leverage the event to give back to the community. The Line Mountain Soccer Boosters challenged the teams to collect soda tabs to be donated to the Ronald McDonald House in Danville, Pa. In all, there were over 172lbs of soda tabs collected. “Its great to have a venue that allows the kids to give back.” stated Walshaw-Wertz. “Last year we collected 50lbs and this year we more than tripled that - Outstanding!".
This years weather was beautiful with temperatures in the mid 80's and lots of sun. The LM soccer boosters would like to congratulate the winners and all those that joined us for a day of soccer.
