The 11th Annual Eagles 7v7 Soccer Tournament was held Saturday 22-Jun-2019 at the Line Mountain Jr./Sr. High School sports fields in Herndon, PA. The tournament welcomed 58 teams across 6 divisions. More than 2,500 players, parents and fans turned out for the event from across the Susquehanna Valley. The day's highlights included 112-20 minute games, booster fundraising and sports vendors, Tab-A-Thon and our annual juggling contest. The tournament was hosted by the Line Mountain High School Soccer Boosters and was sponsored by over 40 businesses and organizations.
Teams were comprised of high school and middle school student athletes from across the central Pennsylvania as well as AYSO youth teams. The tournament also able to once again leverage the event to give back to the local community. The Line Mountain Soccer Boosters challenged the teams to collect soda tabs to be donated to the Ronald McDonald House in Danville, Pa. In all, there were over 86.5lbs of soda tabs collected. This raised our overall grand total to over 1,100lbs of tabs since we started partnering with the RMS in 2013.

This year we also saw the expansion of the tournament with the creation of the Overall School Championship. A championship race for schools who have multiple teams across multiple divisions. To be in the race for the Championship trophy you must have a least 1 team in each of the following 4 divisions High School Girls, High School Boys, Middle School Girls and Middle School Boys. In our first year we had a total of 3 schools viaghing for the trophy, Line Mountain, Upper Dauphin and Shikellamy. At the end of the day, it was Shikellamy who took home the hardware.
The LM soccer boosters would like to thank all the players, coaches, parents and fans that joined us for a day of soccer. |
